FAQs
How can I find out more?
The best place to start is with a Free Intro. Come in, meet us, see the gym and tell us what you’d like to achieve. There’s no workout, no fitness test and no pressure to join.
What can I expect in my first session?
Your coach will welcome you in, talk you through the session and make sure you know what you’re doing. We’ll coach and adapt things where needed, so you can focus on training at the right level for you.
Do I need to be fit to join?
Not at all. You don’t need to get fit before you start.
How many people are in each session?
Our Small Group Personal Training sessions are capped at four people. This gives your coach the time to provide individual coaching while you still get the energy and support of training alongside others.
How long are the sessions?
Each SGPT session lasts one hour.
What types of workouts do you offer?
Our programme combines strength training, functional fitness and conditioning to help you become stronger, fitter and more capable. Training follows structured blocks rather than random workouts, with exercises, loads and progressions adapted where needed. You’ll also have access to your full weekly programme through the Tough Cookie app.
Will I get personalised attention in a group setting?
Yes. That’s exactly why we cap our SGPT sessions at four. Your coach can watch how you move, give feedback and adapt exercises, loading or progressions based on your experience, ability and what they see from you in the session.
Do I need to be a member to attend a class
No. Our Saturday classes are open to non-members too. Simply book your place and come along. An email confirm and payment link will be sent once booking has been confirmed.
Do I have to complete the whole weekly programme?
No. Your membership gives you access to the full weekly programme, but you don’t have to complete every session. Your coaches can help you make the programme work around how often you train.
Is Small Group PT the same as a fitness class?
No. SGPT combines the energy of training alongside others with individual coaching. Sessions are capped at four, and your coach can adapt exercises, loading and progressions around you.
What do I need to bring/wear?
Wear comfortable gym clothes and supportive trainers, and bring a water bottle. We have a hydration station where you can refill it and sweat towels are available if you need one.
What if I have an injury or specific limitation?
Let your coach know about any injuries or limitations before you train. Where appropriate, we can adapt exercises, range of movement or loading to help you train around them. You can also discuss anything we need to know during your onboarding before you begin training.
Do I need to book sessions in advance?
Yes. Members book SGPT sessions through the Tough Cookie app. You can also use the app to access your programme, log your training and track your progress. We’ll show you how everything works during your onboarding.
What kind of memberships do you offer?
Our Small Group Personal Training memberships start from £179 per month, with options depending on how many coached SGPT sessions you want each week. Not sure which option is right for you? We’ll talk you through them during your Free Intro.
Is there a waiting area before my session begins?
Yes. The Hub is our dedicated space where you can relax before or after training, grab a Tough Cookie Roast and catch up with other members.
Are there shower facilities and/or changing room facilities?
Yes, we have both shower and changing room facilities available for your convenience.
Are you open bank holidays
Our opening hours may vary on bank holidays. Check our Instagram for the latest opening times or speak to the team before your visit.
Am I allowed to bring my dog?
Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome at Tough Cookie. Please keep them under control while they’re in the gym.
Is the facility wheelchair freindly?
Our main gym and Hub are wheelchair accessible. If you have any specific accessibility requirements, please get in touch before your visit and we’ll be happy to talk them through with you.
